About
Who makes Sorites, and how it decides
Sorites helps teams find which rows in their data deserve attention, and shows why each one is there.
Who we are
Sorites is made by Chronorisks, a small company building tools for teams that review lists every week: customers who owe money, journal entries, suppliers, orders, leads. Our first customers are finance, credit and audit teams in the Gulf, so Sorites works in English, Arabic and French.
Why it is called Sorites
One grain of sand isn't a heap. A million grains are. So where does a heap start? This is the sorites paradox, and business words have the same problem: where does "late" start, or "large", or "risky"? People never answer with one hard number, and a filter that does drops the account that is one day short. Sorites treats these words as a matter of degree, so every row gets a score between "not at all" and "fully".
How Sorites decides
- Your words, your meaning. Your team defines what each word means for each column, on a curve drawn over your real data. Change a definition and you see straight away which rows move.
- Every row has its reasons. Each result shows how well it fits each part of the question, and the part that fits least decides the overall match.
- The engine does the arithmetic. Every number comes from the Sorites engine running on your data. The AI only suggests definitions and wording, and nothing changes until someone approves it.
- Scores you can test. A score can be checked against what actually happened (for example, which loans defaulted), on rows it was not built from, next to a standard model and next to the same rules with hard cut-offs.
- Fairness and history. Sorites reports how a score treats different groups, and keeps a history of every change to definitions and rules.
Where your data goes
On the Free plan uploads stay in memory and are never saved. Paid plans keep data only in projects you choose to save. Our logs never contain your values. The privacy page has the details.
